We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments. This role will be responsible for database administration, performance optimization, security, availability, backup and recovery, and production support. The DBA will work closely with application, infrastructure, development, and business teams to ensure reliable and high-performing database operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting enterprise applications.
- Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, storage, and overall health.
- Perform database backups, restores, recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and production database incidents.
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Develop, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and database objects.
- Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and monitoring.
- Support high-availability, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on deployments, enhancements, and database-related issues.
- Participate in database modernization, migration, and infrastructure initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability technologies.
- Knowledge of database security, monitoring, capacity planning, and storage management.
- Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with database migration and modernization projects.
- Experience integrating databases with storage and infrastructure environments.
- Experience with automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar scripting technologies.
