Public Relations Assistant Salary Range: $18.50 to $20.00 annually Overview The Public Relations Assistant plays a supporting role to the Chief of Staff and Policy Specialist. The responsibilities range from coordinating communications with the FTBMI Tribal Senators to developing and sharing public relations messaging with the public on behalf of the Tribe, all in support of the Office of the Tribal President. Responsibilities Draft, edit, and proofread public communications, announcements, and press materials on behalf of the Office of the Tribal President. Support the development of public relations messaging that represents the Tribe accurately and reflects its values and priorities. Coordinate communications and messaging in support of the FTBMI Tribal Senators. Assist with content for the Tribe's website, social media platforms, and newsletters. Help prepare communications and promotional materials for tribal events and community gatherings. Support the Chief of Staff and Policy Specialist with day-to-day communications and administrative tasks. Maintain organized records and files related to communications and public relations work. Safeguard sensitive and confidential information in accordance with tribal policy. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Office of the Tribal President. Qualifications Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, its history, and its community.
