About the Role The Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the absolute quality, stability, and reliability of the products delivered by Platform Science across Europe. In this role, you will play a key part throughout the software development lifecycle—validating correct functionality, performance, and alignment with business requirements. Since our development teams are split across Leuven (Belgium) and Lille (France) , you will serve as a cross-border quality anchor, collaborating closely with developers, test engineers, and product owners across both sites. Essential Responsibilities Functional & Regression Testing: Execute manual testing of newly developed features according to product release cycles and validate implementations against functional specifications. Test Automation: Design, maintain, and execute automated regression test suites. Monitor automated execution results and proactively investigate failures. Defect Management: Analyze, document, and report bugs in Jira with crystal‑clear reproduction steps, logs, and supporting evidence. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Development, and Support teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve complex issues. QA Continuous Improvement: Contribute actively to the optimization of QA processes, test coverage, and modern testing methodologies. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test documentation, and user‑facing technical notes where required. Experience & Qualifications Core QA Expertise: Relevant proven experience in software testing, quality assurance, and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles. Testing Methodologies: Strong familiarity with functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end (E2E) testing methodologies. Automation Tooling: Hands‑on experience with test automation tools like Selenium and Playwright . Preferred Tech Stack: Knowledge or experience with Java, JavaScript, XML, Web Services/APIs, Microservices architecture, and cloud‑based SaaS platforms is a major asset. Industry Knowledge (Plus): Prior experience in Telematics, transportation/logistics, driving time regulations, or social data compliance solutions is a strong advantage. Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent professional experience. An ISTQB® certification is highly preferred. Languages: English: Mandatory (written and spoken) for global team collaboration. French: Highly recommended (written and spoken) due to regular interaction with the Lille site. Ability to work independently, take full ownership of assigned test suites, and maintain strict attention to detail. Excellent communication and cross‑border collaboration skills.
