Emergency Nurse (RN) in Sparta, GA

Enjoy a dynamic environment while providing crucial care in a busy Emergency Department. This contract-based RN role focuses on delivering high-quality care to a diverse range of patients in an ED that averages 85 visits daily, with an RN-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:3-4 depending on the assigned zone. You'll join a supportive team with longstanding members and excellent resources.


Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position (specific schedule/hours provided upon interview)
• Potential for floating within the ER or to another nearby facility

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Georgia RN license
• Minimum 2 years' experience as an Emergency Department RN
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) required
• PALS and TNCC preferred, but not required
• Emergency nursing national certification preferred, not required
• Proficient with drip management (including Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed)
• IV starts, phlebotomy, and telemetry monitoring (nurses read cardiac strips)
• Comfortable with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and a variety of monitoring/medical equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for common ED presentations (chest pain, strokes, diabetes, MVCs, abdominal pain, hypertension, mental health)
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including RT, hospitalist, and intensivist (available 24/7)
• Maintain documentation and manage medication/drip administration safely and accurately
• Support departmental flow, patient triage, and discharge procedures
• Participate in departmental orientation (1 day), followed by unit-based orientation (2 days)
