Graphic Designer

Summary The Graphic Designer supports the California Baptist University Marketing and Communications team by providing graphic design services that advance the University’s marketing and branding efforts. This role contributes to various design projects, including but not limited to digital, print, advertising, and social media, while ensuring consistency with established brand standards. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assist team members of the Marketing and Communication division in developing, designing, and producing marketing and promotional materials. Work on multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high standards of excellence, adherence to university graphic standards, and a positive, collaborative attitude. Meet project deadlines set by the supervisor. Proactively communicate any risks to timelines and propose solutions when delays are anticipated. Share and consistently express the division’s commitment to express Christ’s attitude of service, excellence, humility, and dignity in each interaction with university clients and external vendors. Ensure all working materials, including artwork files, photographs, samples, etc., are properly archived and cataloged for future reference. Stay informed on current design, branding and marketing trends through ongoing research and professional development. Assist in discovery meetings with clients and internal departments to understand the full scope and objectives of their marketing efforts. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across digital and print media. Understanding of branding, marketing, and design principles. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign required). Basic understanding of motion, video, or social-first design trends is preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and incorporate feedback. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, video, social media, and leadership. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining high-quality standards. Understanding of print production, file preparation, and digital asset optimization. Knowledge of specifications for web, social media platforms, and large-format outputs, such as billboards, signage, and related. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Graphic Design or related field, or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
