Medical-Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)The Medical-Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential direct patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CNA assists patients with daily living activities, promotes comfort and safety, and supports efficient unit operations in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and groomingObtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and intake and output as directedAssist with patient mobility, ambulation, repositioning, and transfers using proper body mechanicsObserve and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff promptlyProvide post-operative care support, including incentive spirometry reminders and mobility assistanceAssist with specimen collection and transportMaintain patient rooms by stocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness and safetyRespond to call lights and patient requests in a timely and compassionate mannerSupport infection prevention, safety protocols, and patient privacy standards (HIPAA)Assist nursing staff with admissions, transfers, and dischargesDocument care provided accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)Professional Requirements:Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.Excellent attendance record.Wears appropriate clothing for job functions.Wears ID badge.Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration, and staff.Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.HIPAA compliantRegulatory Requirements:Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificationBasic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required by facility
