Controls Engineer

Description Responsible for the design, implementation, testing and customer-sitecommissioning of controls equipment, machinery, software and automationsystems working in a project team environment. Responsibilities Develops control and automation system designs bystudying project concepts, objectives and requirements while evaluatingproducts, technologies, and systems to meet project and customerspecifications. Develops automation design plans byresearching, analyzing, selecting and applying engineering concepts,control systems, robotics, PLCs, and other automation equipment. Designsand implements software for PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers),Robots, HMIs (Human Machine Interface) and other automation equipmentbased on project scope and requirements. Implements automation systems designs by providing installation, start-up/commissioning, and technical support. Verifiesand validates system design performance by establishing and executingsystem test standards. Building and testing simulations and models whileconducting compatibility evaluations and analyzing data to identify andresolve performance problems. Documents engineeringdesign by recording design features, functions operational requirementsalong with detailing safety and support requirements and operatingprocedures. Provides updates to project manager pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and to budget. Continual learning by tracking and understanding emerging technologies and practices. Participate in proposal development activities. Interpersonal Serve as the primary technical interface with internal team and customer for assigned projects. Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction and customer satisfaction. Obtains product and system technical information and keeps up-to-date with current and new technologies. Business Builds relationships at the technical and professional level with I-C Automation’s customers and vendors. Execute and lead technical execution of projects. Provide support for proposal efforts or customer presentations. Responsiblefor meeting project schedules, engineering hour budgets and customersatisfaction targets for own activities in support of the project team. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline. At least two years of experience in controls engineering related to automation systems.
