Position Details

School Registered Nurse – RN

We are actively seeking a School Registered Nurse for the Newark Board of Education.

The school is looking for coverage every day, 8:10am – 3:10pm, Monday through Friday, til the end of June with the possibility of Summer/Fall 2026 Extension.

The RN will be providing the following services:

Building RN for 600+ middle school students. The RN will be responsible for first aid, medication administration, diabetic management for 2 students, emergency response, health plan & medical management, documentation & compliance, parent/staff communication, and health education/prevention. The nurses will not be alone in the school. They will have another experience RN working side by side with them. The district does provide orientation and training for the first 2 days to ensure all nurses are comfortable.

Qualifications  

• Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (RN) in the state in which the clinician will practice

o Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days  

• Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)- Aveanna can assist in obtaining this requirement after hire, if necessary.

• TB skin test (current within last 12 months)

• Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required

• Insert state-specific requirement here

• Must have reliable transportation
