District Support Pharmacist Full Time

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy. They act as role models for all, demonstrate genuine care, and set the bar for the pharmacy team. As a DSP, you will cover pharmacist scheduling gaps, support pharmacy teams, oversee operations, and ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment. Responsibilities Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume day‑to‑day duties of the Pharmacy Manager when acting as the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, support pharmacy technicians in learning to immunize, and engage in cancer, flu, and hormonal contraception testing and prescribing services where permissible. Manage pharmacy inventory, especially cold‑chain products, following best practices. Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain and expand relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings, CMEs, and continuous learning. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius for market staffing as business needs require. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Completion of required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Requirements Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time. Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs. Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately. Communication Skills Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Utilize active listening, give full attention, and ask questions as appropriate. Mathematical Reasoning Determine the total number of tablets to dispense, day’s supply, and additional bottles needed to fill a prescription. Problem Resolution Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time. Lift, scan, and bag items up to 20lbs. Reach overhead; stretch or reach out to grasp items. Move fingers repetitively, type, or otherwise use fingers primarily. Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in various directions to place, move, or lift items. Adjust machines quickly for precise positions. Stoop to a considerable degree, using lower extremities and back muscles. Maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing and reading small details. Communicate verbally with clarity when detailed instructions are required. Receive detailed oral information accurately. Perform any additional tasks directed by supervisor or manager. Benefits and Compensation Anticipated weekly hours: 40 hours. Time type: Full time. Pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour, based on experience, education, geography and other factors. Additional compensation may include bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program.
