Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and gynecologic & surgical oncology population
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with potential float requirements across the unit
• Care for patients in a 7-bed positive pressure wing designated for BMT and acute leukemia patients
• Assist with and support bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Administer medications using barcode medication administration and Epic-integrated Alaris IV pumps
• Operate unit equipment including SCD machines and Alaris feeding pumps

Required Qualifications

• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as indicated on driver's license)
• Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience welcome; first-time travelers are encouraged to apply
• Familiarity with BMT patient care protocols and hematologic oncology populations
