What you'll do:
The Truss Assembler is responsible for assembling wood trusses and structural building components according to work orders, specifications, and production schedules. This role supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials, measuring and fastening components, and ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Assemble wood trusses and structural components according to work orders, layouts, and specifications
Read and interpret production paperwork, blueprints, and measuring tools to ensure accuracy
Measure, mark, position, and fasten materials using hand and power tools
Inspect materials and completed products to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
Identify and remove damaged or non-conforming materials
Set up workstations, tools, and materials for production runs
Move completed products to staging or designated production areas
Perform quality checks and support changeovers as needed during production
Maintain awareness of production schedules and workflow priorities
Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and operational procedures
Inspect tools and equipment before use and report any safety or maintenance concerns
Operate equipment and machinery safely and responsibly
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals
Communicate production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns promptly
Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Perform additional duties as assigned
What you'll bring:
Experience in truss manufacturing, carpentry, construction, or production environments
Familiarity with blueprints, work orders, or technical drawings
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Experience operating production equipment or pneumatic tools
Work is performed in a manufacturing and production environment
Exposure to machinery, dust, noise, vibration, and varying temperatures
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
Ability to lift and carry materials (up to 50 lbs regularly, more with assistance as needed)
May require overtime, weekends, or extended hours based on production schedules
