Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Weekend rotation for orthopedic cases (every 4th or 5th weekend)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments for patients with injuries or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases
• Provide education and information to patients and caregivers to support recovery and self-management
• Participate in required discharge planning and complete all required documentation according to policy
• Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance functional performance
• Conduct approximately 6–7 weighted visits per day in a home health setting
• Maintain valid VA PT State License and current CPR certification throughout the contract

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia PT State License (VA or compact license) required and must be in hand at time of submittal — no exceptions
• Current CPR certification required
• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience; first-time travelers will be considered
• No prior license or background hits will be accepted — any history of hits will eliminate a candidate from consideration
• Facility cannot accommodate a PAPR; any history of fit test issues will eliminate a candidate from consideration
• Must have a permanent address of at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position (allied discipline rule applies)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior home health physical therapy experience strongly preferred
• Experience with MatrixCare or Epic EMR systems preferred, though not required
