Project Engineer-Drafter

Summary of Responsibilities The Construction Project Engineer reviews design and bidding documents, evaluates trade partner bids, and oversees construction progress and scheduling. Additionally, the engineer provides technical support to construction staff under the supervision of the Project Manager, occasionally drafts projects—including but not limited to some residential new construction and commercial buildouts—and may also handle social media content management with a third‑party marketing firm. The ideal candidate will work independently while closely collaborating with supervisors or managers. This role supports projects of varying complexity and offers opportunities for growth within the company. General Requirements Degree in construction management, drafting, interior design, architecture, or a related field of study Strong communication skills Professional and polished demeanor Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk products, Chief Architect, and other applicable software programs Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change General knowledge of office protocol, routines, and procedures Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines Self‑motivated and proactive; can accomplish tasks without direct oversight Duties Assist in the development of cost estimates Review plans and other technical documents Occasional drafting and CAD work (AutoCAD, REVIT, and Chief Architect) Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project Monitor costs and project progress Maintain control of all project documentation Create, manage, and track RFIs from the field to the architect/engineer of record Maintain and update project records Assist the project manager/superintendent in creating and distributing the project schedule Assist the project team with conflict resolution between owner, contractor, and trade partners Turn in submittals from trade partners to A/E for approval Assist the project manager/owner in obtaining building permits for the project Create site SWPPP book and apply for state and local SWPPP permits/NOIs for the project Understand appropriate building codes and regulations Coordinate project change‑order management, creation, and negotiation Conduct and document weekly project owner’s meetings and decisions Assist the project team with site safety documentation and coordination Assist the project team with closeout of the project Assist the project accountant with monthly trade partner billings and pay applications Assist project manager with assigned tasks #J-18808-Ljbffr Wgohman
