Controls Electrician – Fulton, NY The Controls Electrician is a skilled technical position at the journeyman level with five years of professional experience in electrical maintenance, or four years of full‑time experience under a skilled journeyman, or equivalent apprenticeship training. This role focuses on repairing and troubleshooting electrical and electronic circuitry, programming PLC systems, and maintaining production machinery. Responsibilities Repair electrical and electronic circuitry on production machinery. Maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC motor controls. Program and use ladder logic for Modicon, Allen Bradley, and RexRoth PLCs. Use RS Logic and Panel Builder 32 software programs. Apply schematic knowledge to troubleshoot industrial code and wiring. Operate electrical test equipment proficiently. Follow electrical codes, lock‑out procedures, and arc flash protection guidelines. Pass a written test and hands‑on evaluation during the screening process. Qualifications Five years of professional electrician/maintenance experience, or four years of full‑time experience under a skilled journeyman, or equivalent apprenticeship training. Post‑secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is a plus. Strong safety commitment with knowledge of electrical codes and lock‑out procedures. Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC systems and ladder logic. Proficiency with electrical test equipment. Physical Requirements Stand for long periods, climb steps, walk extensively, bend, kneel, and twist frequently. Lift objects up to 50 lbs unaided and climb ladders as needed. Work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required. Good communication skills, basic computer skills, eye/hand coordination.
