Director of Outside Sales

Priority1 is a growing technology and logistics company seeking a Director of Sales to develop, create, and lead a new market segment of our business. The Director will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Sales and will oversee offices in the South West. This role focuses on transforming the business from logistics to technology to capitalize on growth potential. Responsibilities Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high‑performance outside sales team. Develop and coach the team using Priority‑1 sales practices, ensuring accountability in forecasting, sales planning, lead management, proposal response, and closing. Drive business development through prospecting, territory visits, and relationship building. Support field staff in closing complex opportunities and modeling sales practices. Prepare and deliver presentations using PowerPoint and web‑based materials. Formulate pricing strategies with the general manager. Close contracts with new and existing clients. Meet or exceed performance metrics: hiring targets, new business development goals, and sales forecast. Manage leads, customer relationships, and sales planning following Priority‑1 practices. Collaborate with internal teams to retain and expand partnership opportunities. Oversee office‑related operational needs, including leasing and location management. Manage profit and loss statements and financial performance for the assigned market(s). Travel as required within assigned territories and for sales training. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of logistics and sales management experience (preferred). Advanced proficiency with CRM systems. Strong oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills for fast‑paced, team‑centered environment. Entrepreneurial spirit, self‑direction, and ability to work independently. Experience in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and managing a diverse workforce. Strong business and financial acumen; proven track record of running a high‑performing sales organization. Ability to develop and present formal presentations. Experience in partnership management and lead generation. Can work long periods of sitting at a computer as well as moving to client sites; itinerant travel required. Physical Requirements Job functions require long periods of sitting, walking, standing, bending, twisting, and stretching. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Regular travel by motor vehicle and air transportation within assigned territories is required. Ability to operate a vehicle and travel between customer locations.
