Don's Prepared Foods is the leading manufacturer on the East Coast of prepared gourmet deli salads, gourmet cream cheese spreads, dips, entre's and more. Don's is a family-owned business and manufactures over 130 products spanning across its three brands: Don's Salads, Melanie's Medleys and Artisan Deli.

Our Maintenance department is seeking an Automated Line Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Schwenksville, PA food manufacturing plant.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that typically starts at 8AM from Monday-Friday. Candidates who are dedicated, consistent, and organized with strong experience in electrical, air, mechanical, and robotics systems are encouraged to apply. Experience working in food manufacturing/food safety is strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities :

Shift schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM start time

• Assist in the maintenance of all building utilities such as boiler and hot water, compressed air, phones, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and alarm systems.
• Provide immediate responses to maintenance requests throughout the plant and fix production breakdowns. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with little downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and relevant repairs on all facility equipment (mixers, production lines, conveyors, robotic case packer/palletizer, etc.) at the proper scheduled intervals.
• Perform regular inspections and minor repairs to interior and exterior structural areas such as floors, walls, ceilings, and doors.
• Ensure jobs are completed properly according to Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements with timely and accurate completion of documentation and by ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for.
• Follow standard operating procedures and comply with food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to OSHA, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and GMP policies and requirements, including but not limited to: LOTO, ladder safety and fall protection, use and storage of hazardous materials, NFPA and NEC guidelines, etc.
• When required, assist the Maintenance Manager with responses to plant issues that may arise 24 hours/7 days per week outside of work hours and adhere to the on-call schedule.

Requirements:

• Must communicate clearly and be an active listener
• Must possess knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air, and alarm systems
• Must be able to read, write, and interpret blueprints, wire diagrams, and machine manuals
• Must be able to understand and identify machine problems, use the proper tools, and follow all safety and process guidelines (OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SQF, SOP, etc.)
• Must be able to work in a cold environment of about 35 degrees
• Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds consistently
