We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our dynamic team in Racine, WI. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Mac computers, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CMYK workflows, large format digital printers, large format cutters, and digital print RIP software. The Prepress Technician will be responsible for electronically preparing art, images, text, and copy layouts for print production that meet client specifications. This includes operating computer-specific software programs to manipulate files for color, size, and layout adjustments, ensuring files are print-ready and meet client specifications for the desired end product. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients, sales, and the production team with a high degree of attention to detail. The work requires performing repetitive tasks and perfecting client images within tight deadlines.

Prepress Technician Responsibilities:

- Electronically prepare art, images, text, and copy layouts for print production that meet client specifications

- Operate computer-specific software programs, manipulating files to meet color, size, and layout requirements for digital production from output through finishing

- Ensure files are print-ready and meet client specifications for the desired end product

- Utilize Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to edit and manipulate images and graphics as required

- Manage and maintain color accuracy using CMYK workflows and ensure consistent color reproduction across various print materials

- Operate large format digital printers and cutters, ensuring efficient and accurate production

- Use digital print RIP software to process files and manage print queues

- Perform quality checks on all print jobs to ensure accuracy and adherence to client specifications

- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to prepress processes, software, and equipment

- Collaborate with the production team to optimize workflow and improve efficiency

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols

- Communicate clearly with clients, sales, and production team with a high degree of attention to detail

- Perform repetitive tasks and perfect client images within tight deadlines

Requirements for Prepress Technician:

- A degree or certification in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or a related field is preferred

- Proven experience as a Prepress Technician or similar role in the printing industry

- Proficiency in using Mac computers and related software

- Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

- Strong understanding of CMYK color workflows and color management

- Hands-on experience with large format digital printers and cutters

- Familiarity with digital print RIP software such as [specific software, e.g., ONYX, EFI Fiery, etc.]

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
