Role Overview We are hiring a Senior Electronics Product Engineer to join our Military Aircraft Group in an onsite role in East Aurora, NY. Reporting to the Electronics Product Engineering Manager, this role supports complex aircraft electronics programs across the full product life cycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through mature production, working on missioncritical systems for military aircraft. As a senior contributor, you will provide hands‑on engineering support to assigned product lines, resolve production and test issues, maintain product integrity, and influence product cost. You will work collaboratively with Assembly and Test teams, provide technical guidance within a team environment, and take ownership of special projects – serving as a technical or project leader when required. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team capability development. This is a 1st‑shift, onsite role in East Aurora, NY with competitive relocation support to help qualified candidates transition smoothly to the NY area. Responsibilities Assure and maintain product integrity, quality, and on-time delivery of production products, collaborating with and mentoring other Moog personnel, resolving production problems, monitoring first pass yield (FPY), non-conformances, performing Material Review Board (MRB) analyses, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape to customers. Identify areas for producibility and quality improvements in product design and initiate these changes and planning for schedule impacts. Support the facilitation of design changes by redlining drawings, attending Change Review Board (CRB) and starting the ECN process. Establish tasks and schedules for Product Engineering on team-based projects. Initiate clear production assembly/test instructions and provide training to operations personnel to maintain efficient production, including formal Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP/PAT), engineering memos, and Electronic Historical Record (EHR) entries. Provide timely information to all affected operating groups regarding potential problems with quality, schedule, and cost. Track key company metrics including first pass yield and product cost objectives to maintain and improve performance and goals. Coordinate and interface with internal/external customers and/or suppliers to maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in products. Lead Root Cause Corrective Action analyses and projects that ensure long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems. Function as the customer/vendor contact for all technical questions. Maintain close contact with Moog Program Management to insure no surprises when talking to customers. Provide mentorship to less experienced team members. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in one of the following related engineering disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience: Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical/Bioengineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics/Electromechanical Engineering. Electronics knowledge from the product level down to the circuit and component levels – circuit analysis and troubleshooting. Knowledge of electronics test and measurement equipment. Knowledge of printed circuit board assembly processes. Self‑starting instincts, solid analytical skills, and a strong sense of ownership for responsible products. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate at all levels of an organization, including working with technicians, customers and suppliers/sub‑contract suppliers. Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice, to customers, contract manufacturers, suppliers, etc., to support the product line – 10–15% of the year. Access to United States export‑controlled information required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry. General knowledge in Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer, and Data Acquisition and Analysis. Salary Range (Buffalo, NY) $100,000.00 – $125,000.00 annually Salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position at the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Moog’s total compensation package for employees.
