Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring safe and effective delivery experiences for mothers and newborns. Collaborate with healthcare teams to support obstetric and postpartum patients throughout their hospital stay.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Implement and follow AWHONN guidelines for patient care ratios and safety.
• Document patient progress, care plans, and clinical interventions in Epic electronic health records.
• Educate and support patients and families during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Coordinate with surgical teams for C-sections and postpartum care needs.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• Possess NJ RN License or valid Compact license.
• Maintain current AHA-BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.
• Have Epic EHR system experience.
• Demonstrate strong clinical and communication skills, with Mother/Baby or postpartum experience preferred.
