Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide exceptional care to our adult patient population. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
• Monitor the health and progress of mother and baby, making necessary assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Participate in the development and implementation of care plans.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth processes and postpartum care.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology, with an emphasis on preterm and high-risk pregnancies.
• Experience with Epic and Pyxis systems is preferred.

Unit Information:

• Thirteen Labor & Delivery Rooms and two Operating Rooms.
• Approximately 200 deliveries per month.

Work Schedule:

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed.
• Every other weekend commitment is expected.
• Floating may occur within the Women's Service Line as needed.

Holiday Requirements:

If assigned during major holidays, the traveler will be expected to work as follows:

• One major holiday: Work the holiday.
• Two major holidays: Work both holidays.
• Three major holidays: Work two of the holidays.

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.

Compliance:

Full compliance with all requirements is necessary for an on-time start. Non-compliance may lead to a delay of up to two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Additional Information:

Scrubs will be provided by the facility. Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same rate as travelers.
