This role is responsible for locating underground utility lines for the fiber plant, in compliance with state laws and regulations. It plays a key role in our fiber expansion efforts, enabling us to bring fiber to new areas. This role may require being on call, adhering to varying schedules, and overtime.What You'll DoKey responsibilities include:Locating underground utility linesUse stakes, flags, and/or paint to mark locationDocument completion and any problemsAbility to route and manage your own workload independentlyOperate and maintain equipmentCommunicate with designated parties on updates and correctionsAble to lift, carry, push or pull up to 75lbsAbility to maintain a clean driving record and driver's licenseBeing comfortable with working in varying elementsAbility to navigate rugged terrainOther duties as assigned by supervisorRegular reliable attendanceWhat We're Looking ForTo be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:Knowledge of GIS and GPS technologyAdherence to safety protocolsAbility to use mechanical and electrical equipment involved with locating utilitiesStrong written and verbal communicationDetailed documentationThe ability to lift up to 75lbsVisual acuity and the ability to differentiate between colorsDesired AttributesBeyond the qualifications, these attributes are what make someone a great fit for our team:Previous experience in utility locating or related maintenanceFlexibilityBasic construction practicesAn eye for safetyTeam player attitudeAt Socket Fiber, we're redefining what it means to connect communities.
