Location: Boise, ID (On-Site) Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 annually (depending on experience)
Position Summary
The Dry Mechanical Field Superintendent will work within the Construction Management department and will report to the Project Superintendent and Mechanical Construction Manager. They will work closely with other Superintendents and subcontractors.
The Dry Mechanical Field Superintendent will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring supervision of the mechanical project team and multiple mechanical subcontractors.
This position will be fully at the project site in Boise, ID.
Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day activities with other superintendents, mechanical subcontractors, and other discipline subcontractors
- Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees
- Maintain and adjust project schedule daily
- Manage RFIs (requests for information) and submittal materials for review with the Client/Architect
- Manage and oversee cost control and QA/QC program
- Manage and abide by all safety protocols
- Provide resolution to design and constructability issues
- Respond to customer/client requests and develop resolutions using technical expertise
- Interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local authority permitting, codes, and site specifications
- Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates
- Facilitate contractor activity ensuring performance by all contractual agreements
- Assist with project staffing management
- Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
Qualifications
Professional Experience and Education
- Minimum of ten (10) years of MEP construction experience required
- Extensive experience on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects preferred
- HVAC and exhaust experience required
- OSHA 30 Certification
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred (or equivalent field experience)
- Educational background in materials and methods of mechanical construction
Position Related Skills
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- General understanding of working within a computer network
- Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
- Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)
- Training in construction document reading, design specifications, and survey techniques
- Ability to organize technical data in a neat and accurate manner
- Familiarity with CSI specification system for construction
- Strong knowledge of mechanical installations on large mechanical and process equipment, including cleanroom environments
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of mechanical construction
- Strong visual observation and interpretation skills
- Ability to perform under high-pressure situations while maintaining a cooperative attitude
- Excellent time-management, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships
- Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of trade and craft professionals
- Strong team player with cross-functional collaboration skills
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate extended hours or shifting construction timelines
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Standing/Walking/Sitting: Combination of stationary and active work throughout the day
- Climbing: Ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; work in confined spaces
- Hands/Arms: Frequent use of computers and machinery; handling materials and equipment
- Vision: Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; must safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license
- Hearing: Ability to work around loud equipment (>75% of the time); use of hearing protection as needed
- Speech: Ability to communicate clearly in English regarding plans, regulations, and procedures
- Lift/Carry: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry/push 50–100 feet
- Bending/Twisting: Frequent
- Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Regularly required for project inspection
- Must use independent judgment, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities to achieve results
