Compensation: $550,000.00 annually
We are collaborating with a health system to find a hematologist-oncologist to join a dynamic, physician-led oncology program in Evansville, Indiana. This position is ideal for medical professionals eager to establish and expand a subspecialty-focused practice, benefiting from robust institutional backing, cutting-edge technology, and a multidisciplinary care approach. You will work in an environment that emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and long-term program growth, with plans for a new comprehensive cancer center set to open in 2028. This role provides immediate clinical impact and the opportunity to influence the future of oncology services.
Key Opportunity Highlights- Base Salary: $550,000 plus productivity and quality incentives
- Sign-On Bonus: $50,000 along with relocation assistance
- Work Schedule: 36 clinical hours per week (4.5-day workweek)
- Subspecialty Focus: Minimum 50% with the potential to develop a niche practice
- Subspecialization Support Available In:
- Lung/Thoracic Oncology
- Head and Neck Oncology
- Melanoma and Sarcoma
- Neuro-Oncology
- Malignant Hematology and Cellular Therapy
- Leadership Opportunities: Potential for disease-site leadership and program development
- Technology: Epic electronic medical record (EMR) with Beacon oncology module and AI-enhanced documentation tools
- Care Model: Multidisciplinary approach with dedicated tumor boards for various disease sites
- Support Team: Includes advanced practice providers (APPs), oncology pharmacists, and nurse navigators
- Call Structure: Light call with an APP-first model and a 1:8 physician backup rotation
- Future Development: New comprehensive cancer center anticipated in 2028
