Accountant - Contract

An established Boston‑area organization is seeking a hands‑on Temporary Accountant to support core general ledger accounting and month‑end close activities. Key Details Location: Boston, MA Job Type: Contract Pay Rate Range: $28-$35/hour Why This Job Is Awesome / Your Impact Play a key role in keeping the monthly close running smoothly Own essential accounting processes that directly impact reporting accuracy Collaborate with a team that values accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting including maintaining accurate account activity and support schedules Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclasses Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve variances Support month‑end close, ensuring tasks are completed on time and documentation is audit‑ready Assist with financial reporting support (pulling schedules, tying out activity, basic variance explanations) Partner with AP/AR and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper coding Maintain organized documentation and support internal and external requests as needed Qualifications 2+ years of experience in an accounting/general ledger role (Staff Accountant, Accountant, GL Accountant) Experience preparing journal entries and completing reconciliations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with common accounting systems/ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Dynamics, etc.) Nice to Have Month‑end close in a mid‑size organization or high‑volume environment ERP experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, Workday Financials, etc.) Exposure to audit support and building/maintaining close schedules #J-18808-Ljbffr ProPivotal
