About the Role:

As a Restaurant Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. Your primary objective is to manage guest seating efficiently while maintaining a warm and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the waitstaff and kitchen to ensure smooth service flow and timely seating arrangements. Additionally, you will handle reservations, manage waitlists, and address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously. Your role is essential in setting the tone for the entire dining experience, contributing to customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for managing reservations and seating charts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment.
• Familiarity with reservation management software such as OpenTable or similar platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with accurate wait times or seating options.
• Manage reservations and walk-in guest seating to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
• Maintain an organized and clean host station and dining area to ensure a pleasant environment.
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest seating and special requests.
• Address guest questions, concerns, or complaints promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.

The required communication and interpersonal skills are essential for warmly greeting guests and managing their expectations throughout their visit. Organizational skills are used daily to maintain an efficient seating system and manage reservations accurately. Basic computer proficiency enables the hostess to operate reservation software and update seating charts in real time.
