Monroe Group is looking for a Janitor to join our team! Under the supervision and direction of the Community Manager, this position must provide a clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly, and satisfying surrounding for the residents, employees, and visitors. The Janitor must follow the instructions as given for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Cleaning of halls, common areas, and vacant units, including but not limited to, floors, walls, doors, bathrooms, grounds, stairwells, windows, and appliances as instructed.
• Develops property cleaning schedule with supervisor for adequate coverage of buildings and grounds.
• Maintains appropriate levels of cleaning supply inventory.
• Maintains cleaning equipment in working order.
• Post notices as needed.
• Work with maintenance and community manager for scheduling of vacant unit cleaning.
• Decorate for the holidays including the hanging of decorations.
• Assist in community meetings, holiday functions, and special resident requests as needed.

Requirements for consideration are:

• English language proficiency (read, speak, and write).
• The ability to pass a full background check.
• Must be able to work assigned hours as scheduled.
• Must be able to use cleaning supplies as directed.
• Must be able to use housekeeping equipment.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Education and experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in an affordable housing environment.
