Senior Project Manager - Construction

Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Baltimore, Maryland .


Overview


As a Senior Project Manager specializing in industrial construction, you will lead complex projects on active construction sites, delivering exceptional results through hands-on management and strategic oversight. Your field experience, safety-focused approach, and effective communication skills are essential for project success.


Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of industrial construction projects from planning through closeout, maintaining presence on active job sites
• Oversee project execution, coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and client stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safety-first mindset
• Handle budget management, schedule coordination, quality control, and proactive problem-solving
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, translating business objectives into successful project outcomes
• Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence among project team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on project management experience in industrial construction environments
• Demonstrated experience working on active construction sites (not office/remote-only experience)
• Deep understanding of industrial construction processes, sequencing, and site logistics
• Proven track record managing complex industrial projects from inception through completion
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders-from field crews to C-suite executives
• Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
• Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) with a commitment to maintaining zero-incident job sites
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in high-pressure, fast-paced site conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent safety credentials
• Experience with lean construction methodologies
• Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam)
• Background in warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics facility construction
• Experience managing design-build or fast-track industrial projects

Schedule - Onsite at an active job sites during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
