Duties include communicating with employees, management, and sales regarding daily assembly requirements and implementing safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.Job Duties:Coordinates the day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow; Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedule.Reads and follows specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products and examining completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, correct any problemsProvide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety proceduresActs as liaison, representing the team in general; point of contact for general assembly and quality control questionsTrains new employees and instructs employees on the proper use of equipment and toolsDisplay strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service.Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost.Education and Experience:High School Degree/GED required5+ years of experience in assembly/leadership desiredQualifications:Lean 101 training preferredExperience in a Lean environment preferredExperience with electronic assembly requiredDemonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality requiredAbility to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed requiredCompetencies:Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others.Initiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive.Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.Working Conditions:Work is performed in a Manufacturing environmentDepending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram testThose working in the Aerospace department must be able to pass a Vision, Color Vision, and Depth perception testThis position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:Competitive PayAnnual BonusEligible for Annual Pay IncreasesComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid HolidaysTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
