Practice Details

• Direct outpatient psychiatric care to assigned patients within TDCJ facilities
• Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations
• Clinical supervision of psychiatric mid-level practitioners as assigned
• Participation in due process proceedings for voluntary admission and compelled psychoactive medication, as well as civil commitment proceedings for patients being released
• Emergency psychiatric call coverage is included as part of the role

Work Environment

• Position located within a correctional facility in Conroe, Texas
• Security clearance required before starting
• Structured institutional environment with established clinical and reporting processes

Candidate Requirements

• Current Texas State Board of Medical Examiners license to practice medicine
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Current DEA-controlled substances registration certification
• Pre-employment drug testing required
