As members of the Content Governance team within Communications, content editors edit and proofread a broad scope of internal and external content, such as marketing materials, patient-facing materials, signage, social media copy, articles, reports, emails, newsletters and more. Editors make corrections for brand voice and style, and grammar and mechanics. They also perform a first-line risk assessment and flag items for further review as warranted. The successful candidate will have keen attention to detail, strong command of written English, knowledge of AP style, excellent judgment, and the ability to work efficiently and decisively without sacrificing accuracy. Healthcare communications experience is a plus but not required. This is a hybrid role. Staff will be on-site 2 days a week. The in office locations can be at Woodstock, Warrenville or downtown. Responsibilities Supports his/her Manager or Program Director in activating communications campaigns. Contributes to planning, execution and delivery of tactics necessary to launch comprehensive communications campaigns Acts as the team’s content developer. Authors and edits articles, letters, emails, and other communications, and oversees design elements Provides ad hoc writing support to team members/clients Utilizes excellent project management capabilities. Creates timelines for each tactic in the plan and manages them to ensure delivery Proofs all materials and obtains appropriate approvals (management, legal/risk, other) Utilizes project management software to manage programs Monitors the effectiveness of communications tactics through analytics and other measurement Other duties as assigned. Required Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field required. Minimum two years of experience in communications, marketing, and project management. Excellent project management skills. Basic knowledge of print production. Proficient in all Microsoft applications. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation. Highly motivated and proactive, with a “can-do” attitude. Preferred Understanding of healthcare industry and academic medical centers.
