Unit Type: Open Heart

Location: Wichita, KS

General Information

Number of Beds: 2 heart rooms with a 3rd possible
Staffing:

Day Shift: 1 CVOR RN and 1 CVOR CST
Night Shift: No night shift, on-call only

Patient Ratios: 1:1
Type of Equipment: Various cardiac surgical equipment
EMR: Meditech / CPN

Qualifications

Required Skills

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

Minimum 6 months of current CVOR Technologist hospital experience
BLS Certification
NBSTA Certification
Active Kansas licensure
Vascular training

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates may have:

ACLS Certification
Experience with Open Heart and Cardiovascular procedures
Prior experience with Meditech

Typical Procedures

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

Work Environment

Ideal candidates should be confident, team-oriented, and maintain a positive attitude. A focus on patient experience and effective communication with staff and providers is essential.

Additional Information

An ECMO program is restarting, presenting a unique opportunity for professionals interested in advanced cardiopulmonary support.

Note

On-call duties are required, including one weeknight per week and one weekend per month.
