Job Summary
As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for registering patients accurately, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing point-of-service collections. Your professionalism and attention to detail will help maintain data integrity and support patients with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and register patients using healthcare software, ensuring accuracy of patient information and insurance details.
- Verify referrals and pre-authorizations for services as needed.
- Conduct registration interviews prior to patient visits.
- Collect patient financial responsibilities at point of service, including co-pays and balances, and manage cash drawer operations.
- Handle multi-line phone systems to route calls and provide timely responses.
- Address patient inquiries with empathy, maintaining confidentiality and comfort.
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including mail processing and workflow improvements.
- Participate in special projects and support team initiatives.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.
Skills and Abilities

Physical Requirements
