Back of House Team Member

Back of House (BOH) Team Member The Back of House (BOH) Team Member is responsible for preparing high-quality food safely, efficiently, and consistently while supporting smooth restaurant operations. BOH Team Members work behind the scenes to ensure guests receive fresh, accurate, and delicious meals by following Chick-fil-A’s recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. BOH Team Members uphold Chick-fil-A’s mission, core values, and food quality standards to deliver exceptional results that support a positive guest experience. Position Type Full‑Time: Typically scheduled 30 or more hours per week Part‑Time: Typically scheduled fewer than 30 hours per week (Schedules based on business needs and availability) Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Production Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to Chick‑fil‑A recipes, procedures, and quality standards Ensure food is cooked, held, and served at proper temperatures Follow standardized portioning, presentation, and timing guidelines Maintain speed and accuracy during high‑volume periods Food Safety & Sanitation Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements Follow local health department regulations and Chick‑fil‑A food safety policies Practice proper handwashing, glove use, and cross‑contamination prevention Participate in food safety training and audits as required Kitchen Operations & Equipment Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and correctly Assist with opening, closing, and daily kitchen setup Monitor product levels and assist with inventory rotation (FIFO) Report equipment issues or safety concerns to leadership Stock kitchen inventory as needed Keep up to date with new products rolled out by Chick‑fil‑A Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to Leadership Cleanliness & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, equipment, and floors Properly dispose of waste and follow recycling procedures Assist with deep cleaning tasks according to established schedules Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with other BOH and FOH Team Members Communicate clearly with leadership regarding product needs or issues Support teammates during peak and high‑volume periods Accept coaching, feedback, and training in a positive manner Compliance & Brand Standards Follow Chick‑fil‑A policies, procedures, and safety protocols Maintain professional appearance and hygiene standards Uphold Chick‑fil‑A’s mission, vision, and values Comply with all workplace conduct and safety expectations Always adhere to Chick‑fil‑A uniform and dress code Qualifications Must meet minimum age requirements per state/local law Prior kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and work with consistency Attention to detail and commitment to quality Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and move for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30–60 pounds Ability to work in hot, fast‑paced, and physically demanding environments Ability to perform repetitive motions, bending, reaching, and lifting Scheduling Requirements Availability to work a flexible schedule including: Early mornings Evenings Weekends Holidays (excluding Sundays) Training & Development Paid onboarding and position training Ongoing food safety and skills development Cross‑training opportunities across kitchen stations Leadership development opportunities for advancement Compensation & Benefits Compensation and benefits vary by location and may include: Competitive hourly pay Flexible scheduling (Closed on Sundays) Paid training Employee meal discounts Scholarships and tuition assistance Health insurance, PTO, and retirement plans (eligibility‑based) Career growth and advancement opportunities Core Values Hospitality: We serve with care and excellence Excellence: We strive to be our best every day Integrity: We do the right thing, even when it is difficult Teamwork: We support one another Respect: We value each individual Most Chick‑fil‑A® Restaurants are operated by independent franchised business owners who make all their own employment decisions and are responsible for their own content and policies.
