Role Description

The Area Sales and Training Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Laurel, MS with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and developing agency representatives, supporting them in meeting sales and service goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching and mentoring agency teams, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing growth strategies to expand market presence. The Area Sales and Training Manager collaborates with local and regional leadership, leads training sessions, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also involves building strong relationships with employer clients, participating in community and networking events, and promoting Colonial Life’s suite of workplace benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in sales leadership, agency or territory management, and business development.
• Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, team building, and performance management.
• Proficiency in relationship management, client service, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to analyze sales data, set strategic goals, and execute growth plans in a competitive market.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Comfort with hybrid work arrangements and proficiency with common office and CRM software tools.
• Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or employee benefits is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• State insurance licensing or willingness and ability to obtain required licenses within a defined timeframe.
• Strong ethical standards, reliability, and a commitment to inclusive, customer-focused service.
