Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

Role Overview Our mission requires speed, precision, and discipline—and safety is a critical enabler of all three. As an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager at ExoTerra, you will be a direct partner to high‑rate space hardware production. You will optimize safety for our employees at our Littleton location by embedding with operations and engineering to ensure safety and environmental requirements are met without slowing execution. In our fast‑paced space production environment, this role works side‑by‑side with manufacturing leadership to anticipate risk, solve problems, and enable sustained high production rates while maintaining full compliance and operational discipline. Duties and responsibilities. Act as a trusted partner to production, engineering, and facilities leadership Be present on the manufacturing floor and in cleanrooms Understand how work is really performed and help teams do it safely at rate Solve EHS challenges in ways that maintain throughput and schedule commitments Responsible for implementing, managing, and sustaining the facility’s Environmental Health and Safety management programs, managing the environmental, safety and health activities for the plant to ensure regulatory compliance and protecting human health and the environment. This position will also ensure facilities areas are compliant with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations Investigating industrial accidents, near‑miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures Serve as the primary representative for external and internal audits and outside agencies and organization contacts. Understand relevant technical requirements in safety, including Federal, State and Local ordinances and rules. Ensure standards meet or exceed both company and governmental regulations. Conduct new associate safety orientation and training. Provide coaching as needed to ensure EHS programs standards are complied with. Provide leadership and administration to the safety and security program. Provide site safety leadership, ensure facility compliance with corporate safety standards, implement safety directives, improve safety performance, and ensure facility safety policies and procedures meet or exceed governmental regulations. Promote safe work activities by performing weekly/monthly safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety. regulation compliance. Champion all safety improvements and ideas for the Manufacturing Facility Provide leadership and direction regarding safety and security policies and procedures with the assistance of managers and supervisors. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field Must possess working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and EPA standards and requirements. Knowledge of risk assessment and management techniques in identification of key facility Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to influence. 5 plus years of related professional experiences. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and quality management principles. Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven organization Must be eligible to work in the US Highly Desired Skills: Knowledge and Experience working with DOD 4145.26 Explosive safety Knowledge and Experience working with Explosives and Energetic materials Desired Skills: Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools. Basic understanding of industrial hygiene principles and practices. Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies. Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis. Ability to develop and deliver EHS training programs. Experience with environmental compliance reporting and documentation. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements. Certification in First Aid, CPR, or other relevant EHS certifications Export Control / Compliance Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
