Cosentino's Sunfresh is seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused individual with strong cash handling skills and a positive attitude. This role requires proficiency in operating a cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The Cashier is expected to be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and committed to providing a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions using the cash register and POS system.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with bagging merchandise.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision, ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, promoting a positive shopping environment.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and loss prevention.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with customers and team members.
• Maintain a positive and helpful attitude, contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere.
• Demonstrate the ability to lift and carry items as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of cash register operation.
• General knowledge of basic mathematics for accurate transaction processing.
• Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions with accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to greet customers warmly.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.
• Ability to work well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a retail or grocery environment.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Experience with bagging merchandise efficiently and carefully.
• Demonstrated ability to handle customer complaints effectively.

Education: High School or better.

Experience: 1 year: Customer Service skills; 1 year: Cashiering; 1 year: Retail Environment.
