Job Description

The Machine Operator assembles wire harnesses on large schematic and blueprint boards, accurately routing and connecting wires and cables according to detailed diagrams. This role involves reading color-coded schematics, using basic hand and power tools, and performing mechanical assembly tasks in a fast-paced, high-production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wire harnesses on large schematic and blueprint boards with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine the correct placement of each specific wire and cable.
• Follow color-coded diagrams and instructions to route and organize wires and cables correctly.
• Connect wires and cables into various types of connectors according to specifications.
• Use basic hand tools and power tools to tighten, screw, and connect parts on the schematic board safely and effectively.
• Inspect assembled components to ensure proper connections and compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain an organized work area and handle tools and materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Work efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Stand and walk along the schematic board throughout the shift to complete assembly tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of mechanical or electronic assembly experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately.
• Experience with mechanical assembly tasks, including wiring and component assembly.
• Proficiency using basic hand tools and power tools for tightening, screwing, and connecting parts.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when working with color-coded wiring and diagrams.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift while working along the schematic board.
• Capability to work productively in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with wiring and cable assembly.
• Experience in soldering or similar precision assembly work is beneficial.
• Comfort working with detailed, repetitive tasks that require consistency and accuracy.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fast-paced, highly productive production environment focused on mechanical and electronic assembly. Work is performed standing for the entire shift, with frequent walking back and forth along large schematic boards to complete wiring and assembly tasks. The position involves regular use of basic hand tools and power tools in a shop or production floor setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Mankato,MN.
