Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler operates and maintains production stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, and units in accordance with HVAC and chiller specifications. This role follows established manufacturing procedures to ensure precise assembly, consistent quality, and reliable system performance while working with a variety of mechanical parts and tools on a production line.
Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production stations used to assemble HVAC and chiller units according to defined specifications and procedures.
• Assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, and units to meet engineering and manufacturing requirements.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble mechanical units safely and efficiently.
• Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet required tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
• Follow established manufacturing procedures and work instructions to maintain consistent quality and system performance.
• Apply or learn brazing techniques to weld joints of copper mechanical parts as required for the assembly process.
• Inspect assembled components for defects or nonconformities and take corrective actions as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support production goals and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3+ years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical assembly.
• Ability to operate manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
• Experience testing and calibrating parts and mechanisms to ensure components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
• Ability and willingness to learn brazing techniques to weld joints of copper mechanical parts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and basic schematics related to assembly tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous brazing or welding experience is a plus.
• Experience working on assembly lines in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with HVAC or chiller components and systems is beneficial.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on HVAC and chiller production, where employees work with hand tools, power tools, and assembly line equipment to build mechanical units. The standard schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work pattern with a three-day weekend. The environment emphasizes safety and quality, supported by a yearly safety boot allowance and company-provided work uniforms. Work is hands-on and production-focused, requiring time on the assembly floor and collaboration with a team-oriented group of colleagues.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
