A little about Reno-Sparks Indian ColonyThe Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. The RSIC is a vibrant and growing organization that honors traditional teachings and cultural heritage while embracing modern business practices and innovative governance. We employ over 300 individuals, including more than 150 tribal members, and are committed to fostering a professional work environment that encourages talent, motivation, and career development. What would you do as a Health Center Procurement SpecialistAs a Full-Time Health Center Procurement Specialist at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you'll play a vital role under the guidance of the RSTHC Director. Your responsibilities will include providing technical assistance and executing procurement duties for both standardized and specialized services, materials, supplies, and equipment. You'll be tasked with preparing essential procurement documents for various purchases and projects, ensuring that all processes align with organizational standards. This position not only offers the chance to utilize your procurement expertise but also allows you to contribute to the well-being of the community by ensuring that the health center is equipped with the necessary resources to deliver exceptional care. Would you be a great Health Center Procurement Specialist?To thrive as a Full-Time Health Center Procurement Specialist with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you'll need a solid foundation in business practices, ideally supported by a Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, supply chain management, or a related field, coupled with two years of progressively responsible procurement experience. Familiarity with preparing formal and informal bids, particularly within public sector processes, is essential, while Tribal Government procurement experience is a significant asset. You’ll also benefit from a comprehensive understanding of 2 C.F.R. Uniform Administrative Requirements and 48 C.F.R.
Federal Acquisition Regulations. Your strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, will be crucial for managing documentation efficiently. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are necessary for clear interaction with stakeholders. Additionally, possessing a current CPSM certification or the ability to acquire it within six months, along with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, will further enhance your candidacy.
A valid Nevada State driver's license is required for this role.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, accounting, supply chain management or a related field AND two years of full-time progressively responsible procurement experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in preparing formal and informal bids to include processes and procedures in the public sector; Tribal Government procurement experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of 2 C.F.R. Uniform Administrative Requirements Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards and 48 C.F.R. Federal Acquisition Regulations System.
- A reputation for excellence in customer service.
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Current CPSM or equivalent certification or the ability and eligibility to obtain within six months of date of appointment; possession of at least a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly desirable.
- Possession of valid Nevada State driver's license as required.
