Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automatic Door Technician to join our team in a regional healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing both automatic and manual door systems to ensure safety and functionality throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
• Independently maintain and repair door and locking hardware, including troubleshooting keyed and electronic locking systems.
• Use hand tools, cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to repair door frames and units.
• Create various types of keys and perform re-keying tasks.
• Install, service, and repair automatic door mechanisms and electronic-eye operated systems.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and organize technical manuals.
• Manage equipment inventory and order necessary parts following organizational policies.
• Coordinate with external contractors and support daily shop operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and maintain clean job sites.
• Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
• Proficient with automatic doors, electronic locking systems, and related hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with keyed and electronic combo locking systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, software, and computer-based key tracking systems.
• Knowledge of safety codes and standards related to door and locking systems.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to cut keys manually and perform minor carpentry tasks such as cutting holes for locks.
• Capable of working independently and lifting up to 100 pounds.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Licenses

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Locksmith Registration with the State Department of Consumer Affairs preferred.
