Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including detailed medical histories and physical assessments.
- Assisting in the diagnosis and evaluation of surgical conditions through analysis of imaging and lab results.
- Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement personalized surgical treatment plans.
- Provide essential intraoperative support by preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and assisting with the handoff of surgical instruments.
- Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, including administering medication, managing wounds, planning discharges, and providing patient education.
- A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical disciplines is highly preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted PA-C certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification necessary.
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant.
- Solid grasp of surgical principles and sterile techniques.
- Capability to interpret diagnostic tests and partake in complex clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during surgical operations.
