Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift (C Shift) - Waterloo KPR, IA

Job Details Tyson Foods invites qualified candidates for a 2nd Shift maintenance position at Waterloo KPR. The schedule is rotational: 3 – 12 hour days one week and 4 – 12 hour days the next week, typically 12 hours per day starting at 6:00 p.m. The starting base rate is $26.05 /hour plus a $2.00 /hour shift premium. Overtime is available. Job Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, mechanics, and welding. Set up, adjust, and dismantle production line machinery; complete daily documentation. Ensure continuous production while maintaining plant safety and compliance with Tyson policies, USDA guidelines and food safety regulations. Attend required monthly and annual training such as Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, and PIT. Use computer systems for data entry, training, and recording maintenance information. Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, hair net/beard guard, steel‑toed boots, gloves. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. at various heights. Climb up and down stairs, work at elevated levels, and in confined spaces. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach for up to 10–12 hours per day. Work in temperatures ranging from hot/warm to cold; tolerate damp or wet conditions; maintain footing on concrete floors. Use maintenance tools and wear full PPE throughout the shift. Job Requirements At least one year of mechanic work experience or completion of an industrial maintenance training program. At least six months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two years. Applicants with prior Tyson employment must observe a 180‑day rehire waiting period and cannot exceed three previous employments. U.S. citizenship or eligible work authorization required. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
