Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:As an Analyst, Financial Planning, you will play a key role in driving financial performance across a dynamic Operations portfolio. Working closely with operational leaders and finance partners, you will lead forecasting and budgeting activities that directly influence business decisions and strategic outcomes. Leveraging your analytical expertise, you will deliver actionable insights, identify trends and opportunities, and help shape the financial direction of the organization. This is an opportunity to be a trusted advisor to leadership, own critical planning processes, and make a measurable impact on operational success through data-driven decision making.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Translate operational changes into a financial forecast with a focus on accuracy and timelinessProactively look for improvements in the forecasting process; identifying key drivers while gaining a thorough understanding of the business modelProvide support to Operations by developing a comprehensive, detailed annual budget for all cost centers, working closely with operational leaders to develop and incorporate initiativesResponsible for continually improving reporting and analysis for key stakeholders, using all available systems to further automate key reports and providing insightful analysesAssist in ad hoc requests from the operational leaders, providing support in an accurate and timely mannerPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or other relevant fieldsMinimum 2 years’ experience in a finance‑related role, preferably with an operational or planning focus.Experience in Business Consolidation and Planning (BPC) is desirableMS Excel Modelling SkillsContinuous process improvement, inquiring mindset, and strong attention to detailWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension and/or retirement plansEmployee share purchase planPerformance incentive planAnnual fitness subsidyPart-time studies programPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:This position is subject to a negative company drug test.Background InvestigationCriminal history checkEducation verificationProfessional referencesSocial Security Number verificationBECOMING A RAILROADER:As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.Management Conductor ProgramBecoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
