Job Description Job Description Kona Medical Consulting is currently looking for Wound Care Nurse Practitioner in several locations in Texas (Corpus Christi/Victoria/Kingsville area, as well as the Eagle Pass/Del Rio/Uvalde). Below are the details of the position: Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound care management and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various settings. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and other wound care procedures. Administer injections and manage tube feeding as necessary. Monitor vital signs and assess patients for potential complications. Provide education to patients and families regarding wound care management and prevention strategies. Document all patient interactions accurately using appropriate coding systems, including ICD-10. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex needs, including those requiring dementia care or pediatric considerations. Stay updated on best practices in wound care and participate in ongoing professional development. Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Previous experience in acute care settings is preferred. Proficiency in performing spinal taps and managing aliment-related issues is a plus. Experience administering injections and conducting thorough assessments of vital signs. Familiarity with coding practices related to wound care management. A strong background in pediatrics or experience working with dementia patients is advantageous.
