What you will do:

In this role, you will provide law enforcement and protective services functions for the SCDOR while ensuring the safety and protection of all employees, visitors, and property for the SCDOR.

Primary job duties include:

• Screening all visitors and making determinations of their needs and requirements to direct them to the proper person
• Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects
• Performing searches which may include physical interaction with employees and visitors
• Responding to and investigating emergencies, disturbances, complaints, and reports of violations
• Patrolling assigned area to deter and/or detect violations
• Maintaining order and enforcing state regulations
• Exercising arrest powers and testifying in court
• Providing administrative duties to include preparing and submitting routine incident and activity reports, accurately recording visitor information, and preparing other documentation as needed
• Operating telecommunications or radio equipment to provide dispatch services
