Research Associate / Senior Research Associate, Genomic Core

Xaira Therapeutics seeks a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate for the Genomic Core team to support next-generation sequencing operations and protocol development. The role involves hands-on NGS library preparation, Illumina sequencer operation, single-cell genomics workflows, and quality control across diverse research projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality sequencing libraries using Illumina methods such as TruSeq, Nextera, and Amplicon protocols
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Illumina sequencers including MiSeq, NextSeq, and NovaSeq platforms
- Execute single-cell genomics workflows and perform quality control on input material and libraries
- Develop and optimize NGS protocols and support scaling of automated or high-throughput sequencing pipelines
- Maintain detailed electronic lab notebook records and communicate experimental progress to broader teams
Requirements
- B.S./M.S. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related field with 2+ years lab experience
- Proficiency in Illumina sequencing library preparation for DNA and RNA
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Illumina sequencers
- Experience with quality control methods for nucleic acids and libraries
- Familiarity with single-cell workflows such as 10x Genomics GEM-X or Flex assays
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in benchwork and documentation
