Computer Systems Engineer

Salary: $60,000 - 88,000 per year Requirements:

• We need scripting experience with tools such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• We require working knowledge of a version control system such as Git or SVN.
• We expect strong technical depth with at least one area of specialization.
• We need strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
• We require proficiency with common business software, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
• We need the ability to design, code, and test software for flight simulation systems.
• We require the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• We need the ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.
• We require the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at once while aligning expectations.
• We need the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and meet deadlines.
• We require the ability to work collaboratively or independently and approach problems proactively.
• We need the ability to contribute to project teams delivering new or enhanced functionality.
• We require understanding of configuration management systems, hardware interfaces, and large-scale software development.
• We need strong attention to detail to deliver solutions that meet business needs and remain supportable.
• We require a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering with a software focus, or a related field.
• We require U.S. citizenship.
• We require the ability to pass an initial background screening.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance.
• We require flexibility for occasional overtime and alternate shifts.
• We require willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
• We require the ability to work in small, confined spaces such as simulator cockpits.
• We require the ability to sit for extended periods and also stand, walk, bend, and carry materials as needed.
• We require the ability to travel by car and airplane.
• We require the ability to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator.

• We design, develop, integrate, test, and document software used to control flight simulation systems.
• We use languages such as C/C++ and shell scripting in Linux or Windows environments to build new software and enhance existing applications.
• We read, write, and maintain both new and legacy software.
• We follow established company and industry processes and procedures.
• We select appropriate computer equipment to satisfy system requirements.
• We recommend, update, and incorporate changes to simulator designs and supporting documentation.
• We physically and logically debug training systems and configure computer systems to meet requirements.
• We collaborate with project teams and engineers from multiple disciplines to deliver new or modified functionality.
• We assist the Systems Engineering team with software and hardware integration.
• We communicate ongoing work and results to business sponsors, stakeholders, and management in a positive manner.
• We provide training, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.
