Job Description

This role involves operating a variety of production equipment to fabricate glass products according to customer specifications. You will handle materials throughout the production process, operate CNC and other machinery, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of equipment to fabricate glass to precise customer specifications, including cutting tables, polishers, water jets, workstations, and overhead cranes.
• Perform machine operation and CNC operation to support production schedules and maintain consistent product quality.
• Unload incoming materials and load finished products by hand and with overhead cranes, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
• Crate, stage, and prepare finished products for shipping or further processing according to established procedures.
• Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure products meet required measurements.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working with machinery and materials.
• Monitor equipment during operation, report issues, and assist with basic adjustments to maintain smooth production.
• Stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality and productivity.
• Use hands and fingers to grasp, pull, and manipulate items and equipment throughout the shift.
• Reach, bend, and squat as needed to complete tasks safely and efficiently in a production environment.

• Ability to operate production and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
• Machine operation experience, including basic CNC operation, in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency using a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and measurements.
• Ability to read English to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and production documentation.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 to 100 lbs occasionally throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing production tasks.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, pull, and manipulate items and equipment.
• Ability to reach, bend, and squat throughout the shift to complete assigned duties.

• Experience operating an overhead crane is a plus.
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in environments that may be hot in summer and cold in winter.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes as the company provides training.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production and manufacturing setting with a full-time schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and occasional Saturdays. There is a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The facility can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so comfort working in varying temperatures is important. Timekeeping is managed using on-site time clocks. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toe footwear, along with gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and protective sleeves. Required personal protective equipment, except for steel-toe footwear, is provided, and steel-toe footwear is provided annually after permanent hire. The role involves frequent standing, lifting, reaching, bending, and squatting, and regular use of hands and fingers to handle materials and operate equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Frederick,MD.
