Project Engineer Co‑op/Intern – Fall 2026 Semester

Responsibilities

Estimating and Project Management Assistant

• Assist in project management and bid preparation
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, payment requisitions, and change‑order requests
• Perform quantity takeoff for material, subcontract, and self‑performed work
• Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Assist PM in evaluating job costs
• Assist in developing and maintaining critical‑path project schedules

Assistant Superintendent

• Support look‑ahead scheduling to verify resource availability
• Perform takeoff for ordering materials
• Call suppliers to schedule deliveries
• Calculate daily costs based on timesheets and work performed
• Compile additional work orders with necessary backup
• Complete timesheets and daily reports

Surveying Assistant

• Work with AutoCAD to develop coordinates
• Set up GPS equipment
• Perform survey layout and assist crew as a rodman

Qualifications

• College student currently enrolled in a 2‑ or 4‑year university pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, or higher degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Preferable to be available for at least two terms (not necessarily consecutive)
• Ready to work 40+ hours per week, preferably during a semester absence from school
• Willingness to travel as required by the internship
• Co‑op opportunities available at Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; and Sterling, VA, and additional traveling sites across the country
