Security Officer

Position PurposeAs a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile hospitality institution. The Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures and site-specific policiesObserve and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activityPatrol on foot to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individualsOrally and physically de-escalating individuals, as neededInspect all security devices and fire control equipmentScreen members and visitors to expedite their admittance to the facilityRespond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgencyMay also include customer safety escortKnowledge, Skills and AttributesMust be able to work all shiftsMust consistently display a professional and sophisticated presenceMust be highly organized with attention to detail, speed, and accuracyMust be self-motivated with high energy levelMust be a team player working with all levels of management and staffMust be able and willing to work 10-12 hours and flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as neededMust be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environmentMust possess excellent interpersonal skillsMust have basic knowledge of arithmeticMust possess clear thinking ability and sound judgementMust possess ability to remain calm and resolve problems under pressureMust be able to read, write, and understand the English language; bilingual Spanish preferredMust practice excellent personal hygiene and consistently display a professional presenceMust be able to exercise confidentiality and discretionQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or GED required.Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a luxury environment.
